What are Bifocals?

I only spoke to a bifocal once - and that was my own father, who happened to be drunk at the time, a cheap contact lens, a out of focus bifocal. In the factory, Bifocals were the dredge of society. My father was a bifocal, a lens made in china. Well, so he claimed. I had trouble believing he was anything but a second-class piece of glass. My mother, god bless her heart, was a Orthkeratolical lens, a night swimmer, so to speak. Bifocals are unpredictable. They will never have your back. Lenses are usually a noble species, but Bifocals are (and remember my father was one) – scum.
